There are some telltale signs that scream the need for slab leak repair in Vancouver, but others are quiet and invisible. That's why the first part of every one of our leak services starts with the use of advanced leak detection equipment.
Slab Leak Detection
The concrete slab your home was built on can be quite large, and pinpointing the exact location of the leak helps us determine where we need to dig to repair it–or if we need to dig at all. To do this, we'll use a combination of leak detection technology, including infrared detection devices and video camera equipment, to identify the type of leak and locate it. Once we find it, our licensed plumbers will know how to deal with what's causing the water loss and recommend one of the following effective solutions.
Pipe Relining
If we can use a trenchless method of slab leak repair in Vancouver, we always will. Pipe relining is a valuable and effective method of pipe repair that will protect your home from plumbing leaks and is completed in a single day. This non-invasive method involves sliding an epoxy-soaked tube down into your affected pipe along with an inflatable inner tube. We'll inflate the tube to press the liner against the sides of the pipe, and when it's cured, pull the tube out. This will leave you with a new, durable pipe lining. This method is only suitable for points of minor damage such as hairline cracks, corrosion, and pinhole leaks.
Pipe Rerouting
If your plumbing issue comes from broken water pipes, we may opt to reroute your water supply line to avoid it. This process will involve excavation as we will need to cut the old pipes and cap them before rerouting the flow of water through another area of your home, such as your walls or ceilings.
Repiping
If you have severely broken pipes, pipe bursts, or an old plumbing system, we'll recommend a total replacement as your leak solution. Performing repairs may not be possible for burst or collapsed pipes and those with excessive signs of wear that will likely break in the future. Replacing your pipes means we will need to excavate to reach the old ones underneath your concrete slab. We'll remove them before connecting new pipes in their place.
